Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

Destination Info

Remember that feeling of stumbling across some information that made your day just that little bit easier while on the road ?
It could be a hotel tip, which ticket counter has someone who could speak English or how you find out how many bunks are left on a Russian Train...well we have gathered as many of those factoids that we could remember and jotted them down here to help you out....and maybe even make your day.

Gear

Our attempt to document what we are lugging around, what we are finding useful and what we wished we had brought.

This is an ever-growing list of sites we have found invaluable either for pre-planning or while on our travels.

Us & Our Journey

We started in Dubrovnik,Croatia on the 18th July 2006 with a plan to tick off as many places from the 'want to see' list before we get tired of travelling. The intention is to travel overland unless impossible to do so; the thinking being that this will bring us close to as many real and varied experiences as possible.
Our route took us up through Eastern Europe the Baltics and into Russia. From there we jumped a train to Mongollia and then onto Beijing, before touring around China for a few months. Winter caught up with us in Guizhou, nudging us to head for some sun...so we are about to head into Laos before crossing into Vietnam and travelling South East Asia.

xian china marcus and dee
Us- Marcus is an Aussie who has lived and travelled overseas for the past 10 years. Dee is from Ireland and has already had the fun only 12 months travelling can bring, back in 2001. We met in Dublin, been living in San Francisco and are now officially homeless, jobless ....and enjoying it.
